E-Learning - How can governors help to close the attainment gap

This month, we are delighted to launch our next e-learning module for subscribersHow governors can help to close the attainment gap in schools.

This interactive module looks at how schools can support pupils via a range of interventions to reduce the disparity in academic performance between groups of learners, in addition to examples of effective practice and questions governing bodies can ask as part of their strategic and accountability roles. This is only the start of the journey. The subject area is complex so we have just highlighted some key aspects for governors to consider, in addition to some useful resource information for you to explore further. The module will be updated and enhanced over time.

Lastly, a special thanks to Cardiff University for their support and partnership working to produce this e-learning module. Sue Diment – Education Partnerships Manager at Cardiff University commented:
Supporting school governors to increase their knowledge and understanding about this key area is vital, to ensure equitable chances for all learners pan Wales. Governors Cymru Services is one of our Welsh education partners and it has been a pleasure to sponsor and work with them to develop this bilingual module.

We hope you will find the module useful to support you with your governor work.
